Canopy of Neighbors mission is met through the invaluable efforts of its volunteers

 

We carefully screen and find the best opportunities for all those interested in becoming part of our neighborly community.

 In partnership with staff, volunteers aid members with practical daily tasks allowing them to remain safely in their homes and to help combat social isolation among Canopy’s membership. 

Canopy volunteers are advocates and ambassadors of our mission in the community and continue to be our greatest asset.

Ways to engage with our members
  • Drive a member to a medical or social appointment or one of Canopy’s many programming events
  • Engage members through friendly visits or phone calls
  • Help in the Canopy of Neighbors office
  • Share your talents by leading a discussion group, class or tour for our members
  • Assist with small tasks such as changing batteries or light bulbs, help with shopping and more
  • Assist a member with simple computer related or technology tasks
  • Assist a member with simple decluttering or organizing
  • Enjoy an outing with a grateful member
